Can someone help me with emojis

I have downloaded the new update (4.3) and everyone says it comes with emojis. I cannot figure out how to use them, and I want to keep the original messaging app so that I can do group messaging.

Sorry, but you were lied to. Full emoji support comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, not 4.3.
