Can The Female Google Voice Read Text?

The Nexus 7 has a female voice sample which really sounds great, and it can be found under Settings>Language and Input>Text-to-speech output. The ?Google Text-to-speech Engine? is selected as the ?Preferred Engine?. Is there any way we can get this voice to read our ebooks, pdf documents, and Word documents?
