Can this phone be used on the Verizon network?

I realize this is a newbie question, but i love the phone so much that i would buy it in a heartbeat if i could use it on Big Red.

Unfortunately, no. The Google Play Edition devices are all GSM phones, which are incompatible with VZW's CMDA network
