So what I'm asking is, if you already have one antivirus installed on your android, will installing a second one cause problems? Will the first AV stop the second AV from working properly and vice versa? You have one antivirus installed on your phone. You suspect that your phone might have malware on it so you do a system scan and your AV doesn't find anything. So you decide to download another AV to see if it finds something on your system. You install the second AV while you still have the first AV installed on your phone, so now you have two antivirus programs installed on one phone. You do a system scan with the second AV and it doesn't find anything. This is about an unrooted android.

Welcome to Android Central! Installing more than one antivirus app could potentially cause conflicts, but that would probably only be with specific combinations of apps. But it will also most likely bog down the phone's performance.

In general, as long as you're following guidelines that are mostly common sense, antivirus apps are really not necessary on Android. Read these:

@B. Diddy Hello, are you sure they would cause conflicts? On pc thats definitely the case but Im not sure about android. What do u mean by specific combination of apps?

What I said was that it could potentially cause conflicts. The possibility of conflicts would depend on how the individual apps are coded -- there's no way for me to predict.

@mustang7757 So 2 different AV's on one android phone will work without causing eachother problems in detecting malware?

I have 2 bloat removers on my Samsung they dont cause any issues one a free version other paid , i dont see it causing issues, just more clutter , i havnt tried as i think antivirus, app cleaners etc are not worth it on current Andriod devices

I've never used any antivirus on any form of Linux, desktop or mobile. Android is a form of Linux.

As long as one avoids visiting shady sites or downloading apps from places other than Play Store, getting malware typically does not happen.

@Laura Knotek yes I understand that but what I want to know is can two different AV's work on one android phone without causing eachother to not work properly, to not detect any kind of malware?
Yes it can i download 2 from play store and ran them , its not worth it in my opinion , clutter, slower performance etcScreenshot_20220119-141044.jpg

Like to say my device was bog down with those 2 antivirus , once removed back to speediness , i stand by what i said earlier not worth it.

(This was on my pixel 6pro)

If you have an old phone, you may care to make the experiment of downloading as many antivirus apps as storage allows, and running them. Tell us what happens.
