Can v log out of the Gmail App?

I have recently moved to Jelly Bean on my RaZr...and it's the best thing to have happened to my phone...

But here is something funny. Every mail coming in, the phone buzzes twice. Why? Cause the email app AND the Gmail App both notify my. And from the looks, I prefer the email application. So was wondering if there is a way to disable or log out of the Gmail?
