Can you change USB-C power direction?

I have an LG V60 (if that matters).
I connect a portable monitor with battery to it and apparently, the montior charges my phone.
Is there a way to prevent this?

I know my phone can actually power a monitor without a battery so they USB-C does go both ways.
Can it be set to just not do power stuff?

Maybe set the USB mode to File Transfer. LG likely has different menus but it should be something like Settings > Connection Preferences>USB. Not sure if that will affect whatever you're using the monitor connect to your phone for however.

When it's plugged in charging if you pull your notifications panel down and tap USB file transfer should give option after tapping
