Gotta say my first impression of this site was wrong. I'm always skeptical of sites that force you to register to see links and such but I've been pleasantly surprised with this forum. I've never seen a forum successfully use annoying security features to increase the sense of community within a community (requiring one post to see attachments with a header link to this thread). Props.
To introduce myself briefly. I'm a 20 year old studying Spanish and International Relations (with a focus on the developing world) and am a completely self-taught computer geek. I find pretty much everything interesting and my biggest issue with college has been picking my major. I love languages and am currently studying Haitian Creole, Spanish, French, and German. I can converse in Haitian Creole (my best language; I spent 5 months in Haiti) and Spanish. I just started studying French and German so I only know the basics of them. The next language I start working on will hopefully either be Python or Perl
. I also spend a lot of time studying international politics, philosophy, and quantum physics. Basically I'm always down for a random ass intellectual discussion; just send me a message.
I'm running a triple boot of Windoze 7, Arch Linux, and Ubuntu. I'll be removing Ubuntu any day now and either making Arch my main partition or switching to one of its offshoots (either Chakra or ArchBang; can't decide if I want KDE or openbox).
I like pie.
