Can you disable the step counter?

I don't really care to track how many steps I do plus I think it might save a little bit of the battery. Is there way to turn it off or disable it? If so, how? I tried on the Android wear app>setting>mute app notifications but it's not there. I'm using a LG G3 with it if that matters. Any suggestions?

This is on my g watch but it should be the same on the 360. Open up the Fit app on the watch and swipe to the right (ie: swipe left) and there are some settings. Save fitness data is the one you want but also turn off show step card. Sadly, it will still show you a "0 steps" card once a day (bug).
