Can you enable pin pad on lock screen by default on GS9?

[Android Central Question]

When my phone is sitting on the desk i don't want to pick it up to use the fingerprint reader to unlock it. Currently I have to hit power button to wake it up, swipe and put in the pin. Is there any way to remove that extra swipe step by just having the pin pad on the lock screen by default? Is there any other way to unlock the phone while sitting on the desk? Thank you!

you can just double tap the home button and swipe up as well

Long press the virtual home button. Lock screen comes up.
Swipe up, Bob's yer Uncle
