Can you remove scratches from Oleophobic scratches on Galaxy S7 Edge

Hi - have a small scratch on the Oleophobic coating on my new S7 Edge. Anyone have any tips on how I can get rid of this eyesore?

Not sure this phone has that coating. Only Gorilla glass 4 and if you have scratch in it, it will be for good.

Try using some car wax. Non abrasive and a small amount. Rub it on with a wet cloth and wipe it off with a micro fiber towel. See if that works. If it doesnt, it won't hurt anything.

I remember seeing a bottle of the oleophobic coating on Amazon. Maybe if you reapply it over the scratch it will fill it in.

I'm pretty sure the edge does have an Oleophobic coating, because I'm in the same situation as the OP. I kept the factory plastic screen and back film on while I was waiting for my case and permanent screen protector to arrive.

While in my pocket, the film got pulled back about halfway. I went ahead and pulled the full film off but I noticed a long mark on the screen at the point where the film had pulled up. Thinking it was some kind of residue left from the film, I used a water-based display cleaner to try and get the mark off. All of the liquid instantly repelled and pulled into the mark like a channel. It definitely doesn't look like a scratch or crack, it just looks like gunk is on the screen.

All of the screen cleaners i've used so far haven't removed it. It isn't really noticeable unless the display is dimmed or looked at an angle. It's just annoying to know that it's there after a day's use and despite keeping the factory film on.

As a followup, I had a very similar issue (see post above).

After searching for a solution online, I tried a recommended fix: Take one of those microfiber wiping clothes meant for electronics and buff at the affected area. Took about a minute of buffing, but it worked like a charm. I guess the friction smoothed out the coating where the water-based screen cleaner I was using previously had no effect. Hope that works for you.
