Can you show Notifications on the Always On Screen

Is there a way to see my notifications in the "always on" screen once the device has been locked/gone to sleep? I hear the notification chimes, but don't see anything until I actually go to the lock screen (power button). I can do the thing where I rub back and forth along the edge to see notifications (they're enabled), but it would be cool to just see the notifications along the edge

They're on the beta version of Nougat so you'll have them once it gets rolled out and you update. On Marshmallow you only have calls, SMS (through stock app), and email (through stock app).
