Can you summon Google Now while screen off and NOT plugged to charger?

Hello all,

I would like to ask if it's possible to ask Google Now (or Assistant soon) to help do some stuff as dial a number while screen is off and unplugged.

Not even using the "Trusted Voice" feature on Google Assistant? :/

Can't tell you about assistant, haven't used it. But it doesn't work with trusted voice enabled in smart lock (I wouldn't recommend using that anyway).

My guess is that it doesn't have the necessary coprocessor to enable this functionality without draining the battery.

Also I'm using a 3, the 3T might be different, but I would doubt it.

I tried it on the 3T and it doesn't work with the screen off. If you unlock it first, it works.
