I want to use the HTC Evo Design as a donor phone for the Samsung GS2.

Is this possible?

Re: Cloning HTC Evo DESIGN - Extracting SVC code with winhex

Just to save someone else the leg work:

There may be a way to get your msl code from the HTC Evo Design...but I wasn't able to do it without calling Boost. The lady was happy to give it to me when I explained that my computer was asking for it when I was hooking it up to the USB port. If I would have known that they would give it to me so quickly I would have saved the day spent trying to extract it.

I had a heck of a time getting my Windows 7 computer to recognize my HTC Evo Design as a modem. You have to manually install the HTC Diag Drivers and they are located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697487&highlight=cdma+workshop

It really sucks because Windows 7 keeps spitting out the drivers when the device is disconnected and it took me a long time to realize this.

Even though I had my MSL password, the SPC code didn't pop up in cdma when the password was entered, so I had to manually change it.

You have to enter Diag Mode ( Dial - ##3424# , then enter MSL password ) , this lets cdma workshop recognize the device by entering Diag mode.

I was able to change my SPC code to 000000 with a program called RevSkills - The process is explained Here:

and here:

Enter password and SPC Code and Send SPC in CDMA, then your phone is unlocked.

....now if I was only able to get DFS cdma workshop to read from the HTC Evo Design......

Terminology changed. I was trying to see if anyone had any help with using the HTC Evo design as a donor phone.

Re: Is Cloning the Evo Design the same as cloning other Evo?

I certainly hope that you are just using incorrect terminology to describe a completely different process as cellular cloning is a felony and shouldn't be discussed in a public forum such as this.

Re: Can you use HTC evo Design for "donor" to another Boost phon

I'm not sure if this is possible to use the HTC Evo Design as a donor phone, but I just went and bought a Sanyo Incognito to us as the donor.

I guess I'm gonna try to get Boost to change my HTC Evo Design number over to the Sanyo Incognito in order to save my phone number.

This seems like a more simple method, but I thought I would chronicle my work since I had a hard time unlocking this device...granted I haven't done any work with unlocking in the past.
