Canadian users of the Samsung Galaxy S5 model, G900W8, on Globalive Wind Mobile will be waking up to Android 5.1.1 on changelist #5793883. Canadian users have, up until now, been on the oldest version of Android 5.0, worldwide. Well, I'll be! Thank you sir! Just hit the update button and BOOM! Downloading a 629.11MB update.

BTW - I'm on Bell, so there. Anything Earth shattering on moving us from 5.0 to 5.1.1?

Oh... and I have to say that I'm quite disappointed that this update did not include Samsung's Smart Manager.

I did notice one change - I have my "time on battery" information back. I lost it from 4.4 to 5.0. The line that reads "7h 50m 3s on battery", so there's that. LOL

And the battery seems to have gotten a bit more of a kick in the pants - it was always pretty good, but it seems now to be even better.

Have any of you guy's heard when att will be pushing it out 5.1?

Before the upgrade the battery life was great, but now since the upgrade the battery doesn't keep charged, seems to lose it within 2 to 3 hours. I don't know if it is the upgrade or if the phone but this upgrade wants to reverse it and go back to the previous version. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this problem I have the power saving mode enabled and have turned off most things that use a lot of power.

You need to give a new firmware update a few, 3-5, charge cycles to settle down. See #1.6 of S5 Lollipop Update Problems - Dummies Guide, linked in post #1, above. After an update, it is always a good idea to do a cache partition wipe, #1.3, or even a Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset as per post #2 of the guide if the problem persists.

At least the stupid priority/interruptions system is fixed

I can finally use regular mute

I had the mute button

But It would just kill my noticifications

I had to put the phone on vibrate with vibration intensity reduced to zero

IIRC, that was fixed in the OC7 release in March.

I tried everything you suggested and it did not fix the problem. Like I mentioned in my initial post I could get almost 2 days on a fully charged battery and now after the update I am lucky if I get 3 hours. I am open to any suggestions.

As per post #10, have you done a Full Wipe+Factory Data Reset?

I have done a Full Wipe and Reset and even put in a new battery and still the same. I am only getting 2 to 3 hours per full charge.

I am experiencing a similar problem. Ever since the update, my battery life has totally gone down the crapper. Before the update, my phone would routinely last over 24 hours on a single charge. Now under the same usuage, I'm lucky if I can squeeze out 13 hours. It's really frustrating.
