Rezound (and Razr)

I was able to get the amazonwireless .01 price matched for both the REZOUND and the Droid Razr even after Rezound was backordered and listed at $199.

Hate to give up such a great deal on the phones, but we are going with AT&T .. we can't work with the Verizon 700 minute plan limited only to Verizon mobile users at approx $175

I've found this forum very helpful... I do appreciate those of you who are generous in your advice.

Re: My husband is cancelling our Ver contr .01 Rezound Bestbuy de

Just keep your original Razr, that way there will be no more senseless posts on an Android forum

Re: My husband is cancelling our Ver contr .01 Rezound Bestbuy de

You might want to modify the title of your thread: "My husband is cancelling our Ver contr .01 Rezound Bestbuy deal"

This seems to convey BestBuy has the Rezound for .01 although in your message you state "(I have the Droid Razr for .01 from Best Buy"

Re: My husband is cancelling our Ver contr .01 Rezound Bestbuy de

I think you're a little confused about who the OP is here??

Happy much?

I work at Best Buy Mobile. The 2-year pricing on a Rezound or Razr is $299.

I highly, highly doubt we would ever price match either at a penny.

Erm...wtf?
700 minute plan, 2 smartphones, $175?
You must be paying for useless crap like VZ Navigator or something ridiculous.
I have a family plan that includes 3 smartphones (all 3 unlimited data) 1 dumbphone, unlimited text, and 1400 minutes for $180.

Yeah seems strange. I have 5 lines, one unlimited dataplan (for me,me,meeeee lols :D) 2000 mins, unlimited txt and pic msgs), free mobile to mobile (no matter the carrier) and friends and family. I pay $200 (unless the college boyz decide they want to download another game )

BTW, my unlimited data is 44.95, used to be company plan, when I switched it to personal they charged me the business unlimited rate and no way to get off it now without dropping the grandfathered unlimited. Damn Sam!

Almost $50 for unlimited seems way too high. I got mine for $30 back in '09, and I used my employer discount to get it down to $23.99.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the "business" part of the plan is what they referred to as "business email" back when data plans were starting out, right?
Maybe if you call customer service, you could convince them that since you switched it from a business account to a personal account, that the unlimited data should also go from business to personal.

Yep that's the explanation I got, that I was using business and personal email both. That was the rate on the business Blackberry back in '06 when the company gave me the BB. When I switched to my personal Blackberry in '08 it carried over, but never really bothered with it since the company reimbursed me. Now that they don't :'(

I've called and asked, they said no  But since the $45 is still cheaper (less than half) than the 20GB plan, and cheaper than ATT limited plans, I'm not gonna push it. VZ has better coverage than ATT or anyone IMO so will just stay with it. Maybe someday I'll hook up with a nice rep that will lower it.

Ah, that sucks. Best advice I could give is to call a few times and see if you can get a kind rep, like you suggested. If that fails, ask to speak to their supervisor. It'll either make them bend over backwards for you and do what you ask for, or you'll get the supervisor to reinforce that "no" answer from before.
But you're right, $45 isn't too bad, all things considered. My sister thought she was getting a deal when the got on the 4GB for the price of 2GB promotion. I cringed when I thought of 2GB data caps.

I don't get how you get it for so cheap.

I have the same thing, 3 smartphones with 3 unlimited data, 1 dumbphone, unlimited text and 1400 family minutes and it comes out to $234 with my 19% corporate discount on the voice plan.
The data plans are $90, $30 for unlimited text, $90 for 1400 family plan with 4 phones (110-19% discount), which adds up to $210 and then the other $23 is from NY tax and fees.

Is your $180 with a pretty hefty corporate discount on data and voice?

Is that $30 unlimited text just for your line, or did you get that unlimited text family share plan separately? If so, switch your family over to Unlimited Talk & Text and get rid of that $30 charge right there. I was paying $25 or so just for my unlimited text and realized I could save by switching over.
We have the 1400 minute Talk & Text family plan, which I believe is $90, and 2 additional lines, which brings it up to $110. With the corporate discount, the 3 unlimited data packages come out to $70, which totals $180.
Now if you include the taxes, which I didn't, it goes up a bit more. And finally, we don't pay for insurance on any phone, period. We have a pretty good cache of spare phones built up, plus we all use cases.
With Assurion, it was $6 each, for 4 of us. $24 a month. Over 5 years. I'm ok with having saved up those $1400+ :-$

The $30 is included in the unlimited talk & text. I think Verizon just bills it separately but it all adds up to the same. My 4 line family plan with 1400 minutes and unlimited text is $110 too after discount.

I think it all comes down to your corporate discount. My corporate discount is only for the voice and text access plan and does not include data, which is where the difference comes out. I thought you had included your taxes and fees in there as well in the $180.

Either way, we are both giving quite a lot of money to Verizon each month.

The corporate discount should apply to the main line's data plan. So whoever the account holder is, gets all the benefits. Which is why the plan itself is discounted, because it's applied to the main line.

soo.. you are calling me a liar?

I went in, said can you price match the amazon wireless penny deal on rezound? She said "no way do they have it at .01" I said, yes way.. she looked it up with her manager.. they looked bug eyed and said, yes we can match it. I had wanted 2 Rezounds, they only had one and gave us the Razr in it's place.

no.... NOT paying for useless crap

Voice (700) 69.98
Messaging (unlimited) 30.00
Data for 2 phones 60.00
total: 159.98
total does not include taxes, etc.. was told to add another approx. $15
$175

originally had thought we would be able to get a corporate discount.. did not work out

I don't know why you felt the need to make this a thread in the forum....

I love my Rezound and I have tried receiving a phone call on ATT, Tmoblie, and Sprint in my house and none of them get a signal...

The 4G verizon is great and the Rezound is the best phone I have ever had. The battery does drain some with heavy app use, but I don't mind getting an additional battery or 2.

You are complaining about a price that you agreed too....that makes no sense, especially if you got a 600 dollar phone for a penny....

Enjoy your dropped calls because if you travel and talk alot (sounds like you do with all those minutes)

You will end up back with Verizon...
