Cannot access sim network unlock after receiving an unlock code from my carrier to Cricket.

I ported my Moto G 2nd gen from Consumer Cellular to Cricket and even after receiving an 8 digit unlock code from Consumer Cellular no window appears for me to enter the unlock code. All I get is No Sim Card Installed Emergency Calls Only.

I took the phone to a Cricket store near me and the guy there put in another Cricket sim card with the same results. I called Cricket and was told that I have to take the phone to a Consumer Cellular store which is a Target store near me so they can reset the phone.

Does anyone know if Target does this?

Have I somehow maxed out the number of unlock attempts?

Is there a way to fix this myself or should I take it to Target.

I paid Cricket $50.00 for a sim card kit and $35.00 for this months service, it's been over 6 weeks and I haven't been able to use the phone.

Thank you for any advice on how to proceed with this issue. It looks like Cricket can do nothing on their end, but I wonder if Consumer Cellular can or will help me.

Again, thanks for any help with this issue.

Since Consumer Cellular provided you with the unlock code I would suggest contacting them again to make sure the code was correct. Also, I've done some looking and don't know if the Moto G on Consumer Cellular will support the network offered by Cricket.

Thank you for your reply. I contacted Consumer Cellular about the issue and they sent me the 8 digit code which is exactly the same as the one they gave me yesterday, so the issue isn't the code.

They also informed that they don't troubleshoot any of their phones. I'm inclined to think that you're correct in stating that Consumer Cellular's Moto G EXT might not be compatible with Cricket.

I'm going to contact Cricket to see about a refund as I'm already in for $85.00 with no phone service, and I refuse to deal with Consumer Cellular ever again. It looks like I'm stuck with a phone locked to Consumer Cellular which I'd rather stomp on or try to resell instead of having to deal with Consumer Cellular.

Thanks for your time.

I had a similar problem with CC, I ended up giving the phone away and getting a phone from Cricket. After reading about CC's suppose ly great service I would love to know how they got those ratings. I will never deal with them again either.

Both Consumer Cellular and Cricket uses AT&T' network so that is not a problem. The locked to CC is the problem, the only locked phones Cricket will accept are those locked to their parent company, AT&T.
