I am rooted, i have root explore TB and WIFI Tether, also after reading your reply, I went and re rooted , I am quite sure I am rooted.
Since you mentioned that shouldnt a regular phone be able to answer
a restricted call?
Please understand I am a rookie in the part of the world.
I really appriciate your response, I mean that.

It's definitely a phone issue. I would suggest flashing a new rom and seeing if it helps. Sounds like a lag issue, or software interference. Do you have anything on your phone that affects phone calls? I'm not sure but you may want to see if you have anything that blocks restricted calls. Generally I look for low end games and other apps from questionable sources as the root of major lag problems like that.

I'll say flash a new rom is my best idea though.

try this:

this is about the easiest way to get froyo. let us know if yo have questions. we are here to help.

Hey I really appriciate you input and willing to help.
I just got on this site a little over a week, I learned how to
root my phone and got it to tether wireless, that was my goal.
Also I have been pondering to upgrade to FROYO, just a little leary.
So changing to FROYO will fix this problem?

Can't guarantee that switching to Froyo will fix the problem, but following the previous advice sure can't hurt the situation. As said before, ditch any questionable apps or games, then start from a clean slate with Froyo. Flashing Froyo through ODIN will give you a fresh start, and that IMO would be your best approach.

i agree. if you have trouble or questions just ask.

I had this same problem when I was running stock,
and it used to piss me off pretty badly..lol

I must say; that problem hasn't showed it's ugly face sense I upgraded to 2.2.....
I would suggest (as the others have) losing that junk they call 2.1 eclair....

Well I am going to do it, I have ODIN and the phone are buddies
I see the yellow mark upper left. This looks pretty simple, there is one thing
that I suspect could be an issue it's is saving the update to the SD Card, what is the best way to get a zipped file to my sd card.

Thanks a bunch!

You shouldn't need to save anything to the SD card when flashing through ODIN if you are using one of the Froyo packages IIRC.

Not sure what yellow mark you are referring to but if you are flashing using ODIN and following the steps outlined in the link, you should have a big yellow triangle in the middle of the screen. Is that what you mean or am I butting in to something I shouldn't?

in the odin screen on your pc the upper left rectangle should be yellow when the phone connects.

I will help you with this. Sounds like you went ahead and decided to use one of DroidXcon's all-in-one packages. Yes you have to save the whole tar file to your computer, unzip it, and flash the tar file through ODIN. But10001110101, step one of those instructions says to download update.zip and put it on your sd card.

Here is how you do that Pat:
With the phone on, hit the menu soft key and go settings=>applications=>development and make sure usb debugging is checked. Now plug your phone into your pc with the usb cord that came with your phone. After the phone connects, pull down the notification bar and click on usb connected. Your phone will go to a screen with a droid, click on the gray "connect usb storage" bar below the droid, click ok in the pop up, wait a little bit while the sd card is mounted. An auto play pop up should appear on your pc, click "open folder to view files." The window and directory that pops up is the root or base of your sd card. Download and save the update.zip file directly to this location if your pc allows that, or save update.zip to your pc, then drag and drop it to that location. That simple. And this is also how you will save any other zip files such as themes, ROMs by themselves, patches, or add-ons, to your sd card. When you are done, click the gray "turn off usb storage" bar on your phone. Done.

Doh! Was thinking his phone. I'll just stick to getting into trouble instead of helping others.:)

Nah, chip in and help out when you can. Things will start to become clearer the more involved you are, and you will remember more and learn new things.

I had similar issues (all calls not only restricted was my issue) my phone seems to have stopped doing it now but not sure why it ever did it in the first place.

Quick Fix
When you get a call and can't slide the puzzle piece - just hit the power button make the screen go to black, then just hit the power button again to re-power/re-light the screen and then you should be able to slide the puzzle piece to unlock the call.

Not sure why this happens but this worked for me. And I am on most of the same as you Stock os, rooted, TB, root explorer, and wifi tether.

I actually had this problem after I installed and setup SetCPU on my rooted phone. I had switched on the "screen off" profile, and set the CPU speed to the bare minimum. Well when a call came in, my phone woke up but running at 100Mhz and would not switch back to ondemand. So I was lagging so badly with my live wallpaper running and trying to move the Puzzle peice that it would not budge.

I eventually had to shut off the power and restart. I turned that feature off for now on SetCPU

Everything worked like it should!
Sorry i could not get back sooner had to work.
I do love that the phone is not full of bloat, also
like how quick it is moving around, I did notice what i was scared of
the battery and the phone gets hot too!!
Dunno whats up with that, hopefully somebody will chime in
on battery issues
Again thats for all your help so much appriciated
