According to my Settings, WiFi Calling is enabled. So now I turn off Wifi and then turn on Airplane Mode. Then I turn on WiFi. Then I attempt to make a call. I'm told I can't do that in Airplane Mode.

Any ideas?

That process has been sporadic (at best) the past few years depending on your carrier. For me, it worked great on Verizon when VoLTE calling (now called Advance Calling) was first introduced with the Droid Maxx in 2013 or 2014. Since then.....it's hit and miss if it works on Verizon. I'm not sure about other networks.

Seems to work on my wife's Galaxy S8. So I suspect it's the Moto Z Force presenting the problem.

It's possible. I tried a few times with my Z Force when testing for users on the Moto Forum and it was sporadic. Same with my Turbo 2 a few years ago. I haven't tried with my Z2 Force. Maybe it is an issue with the Z Force?

I've seen a few posts on here from users with Samsung phones that have the same issue, so it's not just isolated to Moto phones
