cannot download apps via Google Play Store on my Huawei Mate 10 Pro

[Android Central Question]

I recently got a Huawei Mate 10 Pro. I'm having trouble downloading any apps from Google Play Store (which I also downloaded in an attempt to replace the phone's default app downloader: AppGallery). I've tried clearing the data and caches in Settings, making sure the storage is turned on (I can't find Google Play Store in Settings > Apps > Permissions), and restarting my phone. Help!
