So ive downloaded all the stuff i need to root my new Optimus s but when i try to run a command prompt for abd shell it tells me its unrecognized!

Ive been trying for 6 days now and have searched every tutorial and post on the web. There is none that explains what is going on just tells you to type abd shell into cmd but its not working for me.

Somebody please help before i lose my mind!!!

Ok i went ahead and rooted my optimus s with Z4root.But still connot open abd shell with command prompt so i can do a custom recovery.

Any help would be awesome as i do not understand why my Win 7 command Prompt keeps coming back with unrecognized everytime.

You can also use Terminal Emulator from the Market to flash the Recovery. Make sure the file is on the root of the SD card and go from there.

You will need to enter root by typing su (instead of adb shell) in Terminal Emulator.

If Clockworkmod has a recovery for the Optimus S then flash that via ROM Manager, which is also on the market :)

Thanks srkmagnus, Ive deciided to stick with non-rom right now cause ive already bricked one Optimus S and dont really wanna screw up another one.

Sprint actually replaced my phone and said they had never seen a bricked one lol...
