Did you flash recovery first?

it's right above the reboot button. Flash recovery, wait until it's good, then reboot.

Tried to flash recovery and tried to flash ClockworkMod Touch. Status bar gets all the way to the end and I get the warning "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!"

It doesn't sound like you're rooted and have root access. Is the superuser icon in your app drawer?

OK...can you open and use a root application? Did rom manager ask for root privileges?

I think I might flash back to stock then re do everything again. Something is screwy

What's the problem? Although there's nothing wrong with a fresh start if you've got the time.

I think when I flashed 4.0.4 I forgot to wipe. Starting over to learn each step as well. I like to tinker and I just want to make sure I understand everything going forward

That's good. Its all a learning process. Eventually it'll all be second nature and you can then pass it on to someone else in need.

I have the same problem. "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!". I've been told it is because I need delete the recovery-from-boot.p file. I have tried using the rm and mv commands but I get the error that it is a read only file. Obviously, I have temporary root and not permanent. I've also been told to use Root Explorer but I don't want to buy a $4 app to remove one file. Does anyone have any options for me.

Read through the links above that seemed to help the guy with the problem earlier.... Also, Root Explorer is a NEEDED app if you are a root user.. you will use it much more than this one time and its well worth the 4 bucks :)

I'm not sure I will. I have no plans to run special roms. I just want to run updates/roms(4.0.4) ASAP.

In any case I still could use help. Thanks!
