been with AT&T support several hours. I wasn't getting emails pushed to my Samsung S4 Mini (SGH-I257), Installed, uninstalled, powered off, powered on several times.

When he had me turn off my WiFi, and WALA! I got email notifications?????

WHY can't I get emails while connected to WiFi? I can get internet fine . . . .

Call your internet provider's tech support number - it would seem to be a problem with their connecting to your email server. (And hope they have tech support people, not people reading from scripts. It's why some people pay more for internet than others - you pay for good service. Look at AT&T. Several hours? Some carriers wouldn't spend more than 5 minutes on a problem. But you only pay $30/month - is that important? Not to me, and evidently not to you. Let's hope your ISP has the same level of service as AT&T Wireless does.)

my ISP is AT&T, and yes - they were very good and patient with me.

Just came back from a restaurant (with NO wifi) Had wifi ON on my phone. Sent myself an email from my wife's phone. I did not get it. I then turned wifi OFF on my phone and POOF! there came the email?????? (I am getting sooo confused!!!)

Why would wifi on my phone have anything to do with the emails being received by my data plan? Did it just take a LONG time for the email to come in, and it was just a coincidence that it happened to come in when I disabled wifi on the phone? (could be)

OK, sent myself an email from my laptop at 8:22pm. It showed up in my Outlook email less than 1 min later. It is now 8:32pm and I still have not received a notification on my Samsung S4 Mini. I opened AT&T email app, swiped to refresh and NO email is showing up.

Just turned OFF my wifi and went back to my email app and guess what? There's the email. And the time stamp on the email says "8:22pm".

This is pissing me off!!!!!

OK, so I determined that the wifi wasn't the problem. I was just used to emails hitting my iPhone almost instantly, but with this android phone it doesn't necessarily do that. I can take up to 25 min before I get a IMAP notification. According to AT&T and Samsung Tech support , there's nothing they can do about that.

Not all change is good . . .
