Cannot see screen during call after screen replacement

Hey guys,

I cracked my screen and had it replaced by what was supposed to be a reputable place. When I got my phone back, there are the following issues:

1. Screen is black during phone calls so I cannot (mute, speaker phone, end call etc)
2. The twist to get into camera mode no longer works
3. The touch the phone to see the time only works about 1/2 the time.

So it seems to me like the motion sensor is set to be too insensitive. Is there any easy way to change this setting?

Discovered new behavior this morning. The screen is on during phone calls IF I have a headset plugged in. Just thought I'd add that piece of data if it helps at all.

Its an unlocked Moto X gen I.

Welcome to Android Central! Unfortunately, it sounds like there are multiple problems. Besides the motion sensors, it also seems like the proximity sensor is also faulty. How much trauma did the phone sustain when the screen cracked? The damage to the sensors might have occurred because of that trauma, or it might have happened during the screen repair -- it's hard to know for sure.

It didn't seem that bad. Just happened to land perfectly on one corner where the screen protector didn't quite cover. So sounds like the guy who replaced the screen damaged some stuff. No wonder he doesn't want to deal with it and just refunded my $$.

So is there a way to replace the sensors that are damaged?

Glad you got your money back, at least! I don't have the expertise to give you a good answer about replacing or repairing the sensors, though. I'd normally suggest asking a good repair shop, but you've clearly had bad luck so far with that.:-\
