Cannot select images from favorites album to share on Instagram

Hi folks, I switched from an iPhone to a Pixel 2XL a few days ago and running into an issue.

I'd like to share photos from the favorites album but it doesn't show up in the list of albums I can choose from.

Is there a workaround for this?

I'm not on Instagram all that much but it sounds like the favorites album you speak of is just a collection of photos you've favorited and only appears as an album while the photo resides in its original folder. You'll probably have to pick it from there.

That's the issue, there are a couple of hundred photos in there so I like to star the ones I'd like to share (in this case it's to a group in instagram) and then go to the favourites album and go from there but it doesn't show up in the list to choose from.

Can you from Google photos create a folder then while viewing the photos in your favorite folder move them to the new folder, which is an actual folder and location, and then select them from there since the created folder will actually show up?
