Cannot sign into amazon app on new tablet.

Hi I have recently received a new 4g tablet from ee. It is a galaxy tab A to upgrade from my huewii tab. The amazon app automatically downloaded when I set it up and entered my Google account. When I go on the app it opens but when I click the sign in tab it takes me to the next screen with 3 options. I choose 'already a customer? Sign in' it then takes me to thd next screen to enter my email and password but before I have time to don't it it flicks back to the last screen. Please check your internet connection and try again.(1) appears in a grey box at the bottom of the screen. My internet connection is fine with everything else and it does the same with 4g. I have tried uninstalling it and nothing seems to work. Please help I am completely lost for ideas.
 
Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried it on different wi-fi networks (like at your local library or coffeeshop)? Also, try going to the App Manager, select the Amazon app, then Clear Cache/Clear Data.
