cannot view all my photographs/albums/folders from DCIM samsung s8 on my laptop.

a while ago i changed some settings on my laptop and phone and now not sure it it was because of that that i am unable to see everything on my phone. i want to transfer the pictures from my phone onto my notebook so that I can delete it off my phone. please don't ask which settings i changed because i cannot remember.
