I'm thinking about rooting and wanted to start by finding the HBOOT version on my Thunderbolt. I tried to restart the phone by holding down the volume down and power buttons, but nothing happens. I'm holding them both down together for some time. When I finally give up and let go the phone restarts as usual.
I should mention that I downloaded the OTA 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Is this preventing me from accessing the bootloader? Can't think of how I could root if I can't have access to the bootloader.
