Hi,

So I have rooted my Thunderbolt thanks to Cory Streater! First time doing anything liek this. I've been following his posts and he's very concise with his tutorials. Can't thank him enough.

Anyway, after rooting my phone, I moved some of the bloatware to my sd card (also thanks to Cory's tutorial). But now when I go to Personalize/Widget/Browse all HTC widgets, I get a Force Close error message saying "Sorry! The application Rosie Utility (processcom.htc.RosieUtility) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again). When moving my Bloatware, I didn't move anything related to Rosie (from what I understand, Rosie has something to do with either the keypad or Sense).

Any way to fix this? I am freaking out that I messed a function up from my phone by rooting. HELP!

What did you move?

I stuck strickly to Cory's list but also got this error. I fixed it by going to Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - Running Applications - HTC Sense - then "Clear data". This will reset Sense and you'll have to redo your widgets, etc. but it did fix that problem for me.

Thanks Bobman, it worked...but now I have bigger problems....my clock is gone! Not only that, but it's gone from my options under widgets, and when I go to "Browse all HTC widgets, I only have 12 to choose from instead of the 68+ before! WTH?

Sorry. Here is what I moved:

Blockbuster_htc.apk
CityID.apk
com.htc.StockWidget.apk
com.htc.TwitterWidget.apk
HtcGreaderWidget.apk
HtcTwitter.apk
Kindle-OEM-1.1.1.90750089-20100927.apk
SlackerRadio.apk
Stock.apk
TuneWiki.apk
VCast.apk
VzNav.apk
VZW_BitBop.apk
VZW_Golf.apk
VZW_Rhapsody.apk
VZW_RockbandStub.apk

The list looks ok... something did not go correctly... and I'd hate to give bad advice, so I think I'll stay out of this... sorry.

I can't confirm anything since I am not a dev, but it looks like one of those apps you moved contained a bundle of widgets, like the one fabled HTC stock.apk

Try moving a couple back and installing them again. Compare how many, if at all, new widgets appear in your selections.

Try a program like astro or appadmin to help you install the apk file.

Guys, thanks for the advice. So I read somewhere that to put the bloatware back, it's not as easy as clicking and dragging it back. I may be wrong and that may have to do with rooting and not moving bloatware. Is there something specific I need to do or do I just basically "select whatever, cut, select the original systems destination, and paste"? Sorry for the noob questions, but I dont want to mess things up as they already are.

The first post of Thunderbolt: Apps that are safe to remove once rooted (and how to put them back!)... it's the stick thread at the top of this forum.

Thanks fatboy. So I don't know if it was the this exact file that I happen to pick as the first to try to move back, or if it just needed another clear data, but I moved back the HtcGreaderWidget.apk file back to the system and it worked. So mark this as a file to watch if there are any problems. But now I have my clock back, as well as the other HTC widgets, plus the news icon, (which I can live with). So all is well...for now!
