I have been able to access all Android/Data files on Android 12 on my S20 just fine. Just got a S22 and can no longer access the sub-folders in any directories. Any suggestions for a non-rooted phone running Android 12 to access these folders would be greatly appreciated ????????????

When you go to /Android/Data, do you see a listing for "-> Installed apps"? If so, tap that -- you should see a dialog that starts with "Write protected!" It goes on to say "You need to choose the directory from a special Android dialog to give Total Commander write rights." Tap Yes, then on the next screen tap Use This Folder (without specifically selecting any of the listed folders) -- it should then ask "Allow Total Commander to access files in data?" Tap Allow.

You should now be able to see all of the folders that apps use. But keep in mind that there may not be a whole lot of files visible to the user. Many of the folders on my phone appear empty, but I know I can access at least some files, because I found a couple of images in one of the Discord folders.

File Access issue on S22 Ultra

Upgrading from an S20 and need to access my Androud>Data files on my new S22 Ultra. On the S20 I use X-Plore and had no issues.

On the S22 it will show me the folders onder Data folder but the sub folders show empty. I have tried every File manager on Playstore with same results. Both running Androud 12 so the phone or hardware shouldn't matter.

There was an issue on Android 11 but X-Plore worked fine. Anyone else experience this?

Thanks in advance! 👍🏻

if you want to find out and get feedback, submit an error report on the Samsung members app

Samsung Members app > Get help > Send feedback > Error reports

Thanks for the reply and info. Unfortunately, I have done all that with multiple file mangers and same result. The fact still remains that I can see all folders and files on my S20 but not on my S22 - no folders show empty unless they truly are empty. I see a few file permission items different on the S22 so leaning more towards the fact that Samsung has changed something specifically on the S22

I just tried it with Solid Explorer, it asked for permission, which I granted and I can go into and see the data in all of those subfolders.
