Can't add a reminder on email message Note 5

On my galaxy note5, when you hover with the pen over an email message, you get a preview of the message and few options, including adding a reminder. For a reason, the reminder option does not work for me and I can't find why is it locked. Any ideas??

On my Verizon Note 5 the "set reminder" only works if the email you are hovering over has a date in it. Otherwise, while the "set reminder" icon is displayed it is "grayed" out.
