Can't add "home" as a trusted place on my new S22+[Solved]

The phone is right-of-the-shelf new, with all systems up to date.

I'm trying to add my home to my list of trusted places. Actually, if I get this to work, home will be my *only* trusted place.

When I drill down to the "add trusted places" screen, my home address is already there. It's greyed out. I tap it; a pop-up below it says "turn on this location". I click that; it goes away. My home address is still greyed out. If I back out and go back in again, my list of trusted places is at 0. Nothing.

So the system does know my address, from Google Maps. It does provide the address as my home location without my telling it. But I can't activate it.

Ideas?

First open Google maps and refresh your location by hitting the target symbol. Then in maps click your profile picture, go to settings->google location settings. Then check "Google location accuracy" and "wifi and Bluetooth scanning".

Try clicking on add trusted places and manually drag pin to the trusted location you want and see if it works that way. Also

Also check your permissions for Google play services to make sure all permissions are enabled.

Re: Can't add "home" as a trusted place on my new S22+

My apologies for leaving this hanging! Oddly, I ended up following a similar thread and not this one. No accounting for Ditzy Brain Syndrome.

I did find a workaround in that other thread. I deleted my Home address from Google Maps. Added my home as a Trusted Place instead of as "home". That's fixed it - my phone is staying open at home now.

Thanks for your input and help, I'm sorry I missed it!

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Thank you for the post explaining the fix. It will probably help others searching for a solution.
