can't change unlock method on s6

[AC Question]

so I just go my first android phone and I'm still learning how to use it. So I set up the fingerprint sensor and it works very well. But it only asks for it when I restart the phone if I just lock it justs lets me swipe in. I have no idea on how to fix this any help is appreciated.

Go to Settings, Security. That should give you all the options you have available.

Welcome to Android Central! In the security settings, look for an option that lets you specify how long the phone waits before it locks automatically. This is the interval between when the screen goes idle and when the phone locks again (thus requiring you to use fingerprint unlock). Make that interval shorter.

Also, do you have Smart Lock set up?
