Can't connect the LG G3 phone to the Pioneer NEX 4200 thru HDMI

I've tried using a couple MHL adapters with no luck. My search on the web talks about a Slim port that looks like an MHL adapter but the reviews on that appear to be mixed. It seems pretty straight forward but not making any progress. My Android auto connection works great but would like to do more. Anybody having any suggestions would be helpful.

Welcome to Android Central! SlimPort and MHL are two different standards. The G3 is compatible wtih SlimPort, but not MHL, so you need a SlimPort adapter.

Thanks they looked and connected similar which is why I was hesitate. I'll order one and get back to you and let you know if if worked. If I upgrade my LG G3 to a more current LG phone will the slim port still be my best connection? Or will the newest LG phones need the MHL?

LG has stuck with SlimPort. The G5 uses it, and not MHL. SlimPort supported devices
