I am no longer able to connect to any secure wifi. I can see the network type in password but connect is blank but I can click cancel. I am on cm7 right now but have gone to stock froyo and even updated to gingerbread I have done a clean install of cm7 grom hydrorom and cm9 alpha 3 with the exact same results. the only time I was able to connect was in rawrzilla alpha 3, which only throws me for a bigger loop.

I did restore an old cm7 backup that I had previously connected and was able to connect. as a test I then forgot the connection and had same issue of not being able to click connect.

any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a hardware problem. You might have to revert to stock and take it in to Sprint.

Sorry, I seem to have a reading comprehension issue lately. I didn't see that you could connect to unsecured networks...

You say that the button is blank... Have you tried pushing it anyway? Some of my selection buttons are "blank" due to them being highlighted.

Have you tried reverting to stock or Reborn ROM and updating your profile (and PRL while you're there)?

Could you tell us what you're doing for a clean install? And what recovery are you using?

By blank, I mean that I can't click on it I have tried.

For a clean install (for each rom listed) wipe cache, format boot, system, data, cache. I installed the stock recovery and went back to Sprint Froyo without any luck, I then rooted, installed CWMT recovery v5.0.2.7-th7 wiped cache, formatted boot, sys, data, cache, installed stock recovery loaded sprint gingerbread.

all with no luck went back to zvd restored an old backup of cm7 that i had connected wifi to before and wifi connects right away. go into wifi settings forget my network, click on my network to connect to it and then the 'connect' button isn't able to be clicked on.

Hmm... A merry game of "Stump the Community". I honestly can't think of any reason why you can't connect. Want to try something?
Try backing up your sdcard to your computer, wiping boot/sys/data/cache, flash debug-sys, then reformatting your sdcard. IOW, format everything. Then fresh install your flavor of the day. If that works, then it's prolly a setting saved on your sdcard and you can selectively restore your sdcard.

"Stump the Community". I like the ring of that.

As to the problem, if the issue is happening on stock, than you should be able to take the phone back and replace it, right? Make a nandroid, swap the phone, root the new phone, and restore the nandroid?

I purchased the phone on eBay so idk id they will replace it worth a shot. I'll try a different sprint location.

bubblespit I'll try your suggestion later tonight a post results. thanks for your ideas so far.

found out roommate/boss changed the password at home and work didn't even bother telling anyone. as for sprint guessing they didn't even try to connect. wifi does work!

thanks for the help and suggestions and the new phrase
