Can't Connect to Data.....??

On VD running TR1.8.
Data was working fine until last night. I don't know if its related but I think It stopped after I flashed the CM7 Scott Pilgrim boot animation over the standard Android animation.
WiFi works great, but data won't connect.

I tried rebooting, wiping cache and dalvik and rebooting, that didn't work. I tried flashing TR 1.8 again and nothing. I did a complete wipe and restored a nandroid backup twice with 2 different backups and still nada!

I'm out of ideas....anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Wiped and flashed again and tried to update the PRL. While the PRL was updating the 3G symbol flashed a couple of times then went off. I'm stumped.

Guess you could force flash back to V9 ROM and LG Recovery, have Sprint do a reset and reroot your way back to TR1.8

Hmm very interesting. I tried to update the profile twice and it dumped out both times. Just for the hell of it I tried out again after reading this, and it stuck. 3G notification is so far staying up and data services are functional.

FWIW, Sprint is having a very hard time providing 3G data in my area, though 1x has been reliable. This appears to be a widespread Sprint infrastructure problem, as users on SprintUsers.com are reporting poor data service in many different parts of the country.

i am having the same problem as well i came from thunderrom 6.1 and thought i would upgrade to the most recent one and no can't get any data connection tryied updaing prl updating profile phone does that and shuts it self off then i tried wiping everything data/factory reset, dalvik,cache and reran the rom still same issue!! please help i don't know what to do

Are you on VC or VD? TR 1.8.2 won't work correctly on V9.

You need to go HERE. You're using an incompatible radio. That thread will teach you how to update the radio and keep root.

Since you are still on V9 it will be easy for you to follow yhe link provided by KSmith snd use the LG Updater tool to update to ZVD, then flash TR 1.8.2.
