Can't delete photos

When I go to delete photos, this is the notification I get. I checked permissions and everything looks OK. This is when I try delete photos taken with the U11.

Have you expressly given Photos permission to access the SD card? If so I would guess your SD card is either not connected or is no good. Have you tried using the file manager on your phone?

Yes I've given permission. I can delete using file manager, but it's a huge pain. The SD card came from my 10 that was not set up for adoptable storage.

Well then, the phone recognizes the SD card so that is good. Do you have the SD card setup as adoptable storage? And, to your last post, have you tried Gallery as the notice says?

I do not have the SD card setup as adoptable storage. HTC did away with gallery on the HTC 10.

Can you check the permissions?

Go to:

Settings->Apps->Photos->Permissions

And then ensure Storage is selected.

The htc gallery app isn't compatible with the U11.

This happened to me before on my HTC 10... I switched it from external storage to internal and then back...idk what that did or if it was purely coincidental but it worked

I found a newer version of Gallery that seems to work on my U11. Version 1.1.40012

That's a stock Android Gallery by Google. HTC's latest version of their own gallery app is 10.20.836439 from December 2016, but it can't go on the U11.

Disregard its working now. Not sure why I only signed in and then signed out then it prompted me for sd card access even though my permissions were already set to grant access.
