can't detect sim card and unable to hear while making phone calls

My Samsung galaxy s4 5.0 version shuts down on its own also lose service from carrier off and on and when making phone calls I can't hear them nor can they hear me sometimes works with speaker on

Welcome to Android Central! If it was only losing service intermittently, I'd suggest trying a new SIM card from your carrier, but the fact that it's also shutting down on its own makes me wonder about some hardware problem. Does this happen in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-11724
