Is anyone else having problems downloading cloud apps from Amazon. I am set to download from unknown sources. But when I click on 'Install' on any app, it says "download failed".

Any guesses???

Bulletproof phone.

I just tried and was able to download one. Granted, I'm on a Note 4. Have you tried clearing data from the Amazon Appstore app? I've had issues before with content not loading and that helped.

Note that, in theory, if the app you want is not compatible with your phone it shouldn't appear on the list, so this shouldn't be an issue...but it could trigger a failed download.

I am having the exact same problem. I have been trying to figure this out for days. I got a refurb Galaxy S3 from Freedompop. From day 1 the phone has had problems with downloading certain things. For a while it I couldn't even download gmail attachments. Most apps non-Google or non-Samsung can't download. I've checked the SD card fix for Kitkat (I'm running 4.4.2). I have the "Unknown sources" checked (after all, I do have Amazon appstore installed). I have cleared the cache, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache and data, taken the SD card out of the phone, and I have cleared the Dalvik cache on the phone. Nothing has worked so far. I would really appreciate finding some sort of answer to this. Amazon Appstore is the app that I'm using as an example, but I have lots of other apps that won't run properly as well. Handy Scanner can't save pictures taken, Amazon can't download, HumbleBundle can't download, either. However, I can text myself a link from the desktop, and install the apps that way. Amazon Music won't download songs, Olive Tree Bible Study can't download other bibles, oddly enough, Coursera CAN download videos, Rhapsody can stream, but won't download locally...I think that may be it. No matter what I look up, it seems to not work.

If someone can find an answer to this, I would REALLY be interested in hearing it. It'd be great to have a real working phone again.

I'm having no problems on my 64gb turbo. Have about 5 apps on here that I installed from amazon app store

I also have a samsung galaxy s3 from freedompop and couldn't install anything from the amazon app store. I found a solution over on Slickdeals that worked for me.

Basically download and run "FolderMount (Root)" app from the Play store and it fixed it.

HTH

I call shenanigans.

I have had no issues, I have a TON of apps in the cloud storage because pretty muh every day for the last 3 or 4 years (whenever they first started faotd) I "buy" it but cancel the install.

fwiw, the one problem I have is that amazon app store doesnt always have up to date versions and dont always update them. Before you buy look at the version in play store..

I was having an issue re: installation of the Amazon app update. I had to turn off the Screen Filter app and then it worked fine.

Pretty sure I saw that tip on the forums here somewhere but can't remember who to give the shout out to! A big thank you to that anonymous hero!
