Just recently got an Unlocked ATT HTC One X for T-Mobile. I've checked every option I can think of and am still not able to receive or send picture/group texts. I get the notification that I have a picture text, and it gives me the option to download. However when I go to download it takes forever, times out, and fails. I have a data plan and 4g LTE working. Any suggestions? Maybe something with APN?

The error message says "Message not downloaded. Generic network failure"

Welcome to Android Central :)
Does this happen only with pictures? Have you tried downloading them over WiFi to see if it works that way?

Yeah, group messages are sent as MMS. When you try to edit APN is there any other default options you can select?

I set up my APN using these instructions/settings: http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-one/288956-att-htc-one-tmobile-issues.html

Found in the first reply to that thread. My mobile network wasn't working until i changed my APN to fast.t-mobile.com

Can you add multiple APN's? Not really sure how they work...

There might be many reasons why you might not be able to send/receive MMS messages. Try the following steps below:

1. Turn on Mobile Data
Even if you have Wi-fi on, turn on mobile data anyway. You want to do this because MMS rely on the carrier's data network, rather than the cellular network (which is what regular text messages rely on).

2. Reboot your phone.

3. If the above isn't working, perform a soft reset.

4. Factory-reset your device

5. Send your phone to your manufacturer (if warranty/ device protection plan exists).

Hope this helps :)
