Can't find apps on sd card

Just bought a memory card for samsung galaxy tablet. I went to the apps part of the settings and transferred messenger and spider solitaire to the sd card, it said it was successful. I then uninstalled it from the tablet memory and now can't find it! Where should I be looking? Should I have left the original on there? When I look in the settings under the sd card there are files there, just none I recognize. Am I able to put icons on the front page so I can have shortcuts?

I'm sure that this is so simple you'll be rolling your eyes but I've come to the conclusion that IT isn't my forte!

Not sure what mean be removed it from memory. Are you saying that after you moved it to SD you uninstalled the app? If you uninstalled the app it removes it from your phone regardless of where you moved it to.
