I had a Google Search Bar on my home screen and could type text directly in that bar. I somehow managed to remove that bar. I found a Google Search Bar in my apps, but it's different from the original. First, it's a little smaller than the original. Second, I can't type directly in the box. As soon as I tap the bar, Google opens full-screen and places the cursor in the Search box. Is there a way to get my old search bar back? Thanks.

Are you by any chance using Nova Launcher? There's a setting for disabling persistent search bar you may have toggled on by mistake.

It's a widget. Long press on the screen. Tap the widget option to go to the widgets. They're in alpha order. You'll find it there.

Thanks, folks. I found the widget, but it's not what I had beore the issue arose. I attached two screenshots. One shows the bar on my desktop, and the other shows the widget selection page. Whenever I tap in the widget's box, the Google web search page opens with the cursor in the box. I can't simply tap the box and type.

Thanks. Mine had always allowed me to type directly and immediately into the box without opening a page. It also seems that I can't delete the search history, which appears under the search box when the page opens. I tried the usual methods, but none seem to work. I run Firefox and not Chrome.
