So I have rooted droid x, x2, droid 3, incredible so this isnt my first root. But when I go to rom manager, first off lg spectrum isnt on the list so I picked one that I thought was close to it. I downloaded a rom from this forum and when I clicked on make a backup in rom manager it showed me the name then it just went to a black screen and I had to do a battery pull. then I went back to rom manager and clicked on boot into recovery it did the same thing, it sent me to a black screen where I had to do a battery pull. I tried rom toolbox and tried to click on boot into recovery and once again it sent me to the black screen and once again had to do a battery pull. I tried to do the volume down power thing but all I could get to was where I could do a factory hard resest then i cancelled that and got stuck into a boot loop or something where I reflashed my phone back to stock and just rerooted my phone and now I am here trying to figure out what I am missing or what I did wrong. I used the all in one root and clicked on #3 root and cwm................................wait my phone just did the software update and when I clicked on it to install it, that took me to recovery to the menu I am use to seeing where I can install from zip, so how do I get back there

well while I was in recovery I was able to install the rom I downloaded earlier so now I am on I think it is broken out 3.0, but I still want to figure out how to get back into recovery to later on but I dont want to mess with it right now since I have this rom that I can check out and I see I can boot into recovery from this rom through the power down menu which is working for me

first: you don't need rom manager for our phone, so don't use it.

second: you did right by using the all in one package

Supposedly the black screen thing while trying ot get into recovery is just a heat issue. So leave your phone off and let it cool then try again. I think most of us have had this happen a couple times but I havent had it happen but twice and both times it was while using rom toolbox.

you got the bootloop because with this phone you never want to use the button combo after you're rooted with recovery or it will send you into a bootloop. There is a fix for it. You just need to install a zip. http://joelperryproductions.com/spectrum/tools/cwm_bootloop_fix.zip

So here's what you need to do.

1. use the all in one package and choose option 3.

2. once that is finished download one of the 2 roms we have for our phone right now which can be found on this forum. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-spectrum/171918-we-got-2-roms.html

3. place the rom on your sd card and boot into recovery and wipe data and flash the rom.

if you have problems getting into recovery then let your phone cool down and try again.

Also make sure you have the bootloop zip on your sd card just in case.

ok I do have bootloop zip installed just incase. So what app or what do you use to boot into recovery if you dont use rom manager. wasnt there an option in the all in one to boot into recovery from there, right now I can boot in recovery from the power menu on my phone with the rom i have right now

you can use anything to boot into recovery. Rom manager will work just don't use it to flash anything because it doesnt have any files for our phone.

I use the power menu to flash into it mostly. But i also use rom toolbox pro, titanium backup pro, and super manager 3.0 pro

They should all work fine. Just remember to let your phone cool down if you have problems booting into recovery.

ok thank you. I read that I had to turn it off for a bit then try again but I didnt know it was from heat so I never left it off long enough to cool off
