can't get my Nexus 7, and LG L38C bluetooth to connect, only pair

I am able to get them to pair, but no matter what I do, I can't get them to connect! Tried to get them to rediscover eachother, and rebooted them. I've been able to get them both to connect with other devices, with no problems. Can't find an answer to my problem anywhere. Please help.
