Cant install apk-no sd card

Every time i try to install the showbox apk download it is shaded, cannot click install. My sd was damaged so i removed it (showbox was working fine). Afterwards (wks later) i cleared out showbox (cache, data, uninstall) bc of another issue, now it won't install again. Its always gone right to my internal storage downloads file, then i moved it to my sd when it was ok. I don't know anything about my system except its android (marshmallow, jelly bean..no idea) i don't anychanges to my system admins i don't know how. I know it downloads the file using chrome, i do have3rd party apps enabled but why won't it let me install it? Ive tried apk manager apps but i don't think I'm doing it right. Somewhere i read if i have a background app running but i don't know how or where to check. Any help where to start? I can get an sd card to fix the issue. Its just frustrating there has to be some way without the card
