Can't long press a photo to save anymore?

When I'm reading an article or webpage, i used to be able to long press a photo within the article, and it would allow me option to download/save it.

I've noticed the past few weeks, I'll do the same, it will show and save as downloading, but then in my photo album is a black screen with a "?" In the spot where the picture would have saved.

Any ideas why or a way to fix it?

Sometimes the photo won't save correctly so I just screenshot the photo with Capture+ and just edit it later

I noticed it does this more on webpages that aren't mobile optimized or save protected material

OK, thank you. It's only started to happen recently, so I've resorted to screenshots, but it seems a lot more prevalent in the past few weeks.
