Can't Make Calls with Car Radio Since Update

After a recent software update on my Note 10+, I cannot initiate a call on my phone over bluetooth using my car radio. I tap the call function on my radio and tell it to call someone. The radio tells me I have to unlock my phone before I can make the call. Previously, I did not have this issue. Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve it? Have UI 3.1, Version 11. Thanks.

Try to unpair the device and car then re-pairing

I did that and checked my phone settings and all is good. Still no go. If I unlock my phone, I can make calls through my radio. Making calls through my radio before worked flawlessly with my phone locked. There has to be a setting somewhere I don't know about. I am stumped by this.
