Can't make phone stop vibrating in Silent mode

My Droid X is updated with 2.2 I have disabled all vibration options and put the phone in silent mode. It still vibrates when a text message is received.
Any ideas?

ok so you have the :
MENU button>settings>sound>vibrate >never selected
as well as
Text messaging>MENU button>Message settings>vibrate> (grey arrow shows when its off here)

Do you use Handcent? I believe there is a vibration option for the notification within the Handcent application.

I use Beautiful Widgets to get into pure silent. I have the Vibrate and Silent widgets on my screen, and selecting the appropriate one has never let me down.

Handcent is pretty awesome. If you aren't using it, give it a try. Shut off default text notifications, though, or you will get duplicates.
