cant output power thru note 8

I know that using a micro usb male to usb female adapter I was able to power things from my galaxy s7 edge, but now that I use the note 8 I cant get it to output any power thru a usb to usb c adapter. any help is appreciated

i havent played with that yet but im pretty sure i remember seeing an option for it in the settings somewhere when i was setting up my note 8.
