Is anyone else not able to run their droid over 800mhz without it constantly locking up or rebooting?

Seems like no matter what ROM I load, or profile I activate, I cannot overclock my phone above the 800 mark without it dumping all over itself.

I just loaded the Ultimate Droid 2.1 Rom, unfortunately, it is set in the package at 1.2. I cant keep the phone up long enough to get SetCPU up to pull back the throttle.

Dont know if I should try to return this to VZW and tell them that I cant overclock it... Im sure they would honor that for an exchange. :p

Good thing I have the insurance on it!

I'm pretty sure this is the wrong area for this thread.

And I'm not entirely sure if you know this or not, forgive me if you do, but, flashing the ROM voids your warranty. Just sayin'...

It's your phone some love to be overclocked some hate it. but whatever you do don't go to Verizon and tell them you can't overclocked your phone. just let it live at 800 mhz. if you want to take it back make sure your back to stock no root. but theirs nothing promising you that the next one will be able to get over 600 mhz

Ooops. Didnt mean to put it in the ROM/Hacks subsection.

Mods, please move it to the base Droid folder if you will.

And yeah. I knew it does. Just wondering if anyone else is having an issue.

It belongs on the hacks subsection due to being a Droid rooting question

I have the same problem on my Droid. At 800mhz, I will get an occasional lock/reboot, when at 1ghz it seemed like any time I exit an app it would freeze and reboot. I am running the Ultimate Droid ROM v3 (released today). FYI, the new v3 release the default is set to 600mhz. The custom launcher in the Ultimate Droid ROM is what keeps me from trying out other ROMs, just love it, along with live wallpapers.

I'm using the newest bugless beast (2.0.1) and I've tried the 2.1 bugless beast. Both are great and overclock very nicely. The 2.0.1 is my personal fave because it's quick and has a lot of the perks of 2.1 including live wallpapers now. You can choose which overclock to use (i'm using the 1.25).
