can't receive text messages?

Greetings, I have been using my sgsII skyrocket for a year now. Issues are popping up now. 1st and most important, I can not receive text messages. I have powered down, restarted, no fix. I have pulled the battery as well, no fix. I also have tried numerous settings, yep you guessed it, no fix. Now I'm pounding my head against a wall. Any help will be appreciated. 2nd issue, using the phones music player, while playing songs, it will pause randomly. Thank you for any advice/help.
